Trump Wants 2000's Style Regime Change As US Loses Iran's Uranium Stockpile
It feels like 2002 all over again.
In one of the most incomprehensible weekends in US military history, Trump orders the bombing of Iran to stop their nuclear weapons program. Thing is, it was never about that in the first place. In a post to Truth Social, Trump flat out states “If the current Iranian regime is unable to MAKE IRAN GREAT AGAIN why shouldn’t there be regime change?”. It’s one of those moments where Trump is so shockingly transparent that it’s almost commendable. Here we are at the precipice of a war (or at bare minimum a conflict at the Strait of Hormuz), and our President is openly calling for the Ayatollah’s head. We are so far beyond the pale it’s insane.
Anyone that’s old enough to remember the early G.W. Bush years, remembers this rhetoric wasn’t nearly as direct. Obviously, the nation was reeling from 9/11 and a war of righteous indignation was sure to follow. However, as time went on, and weapons of mass destruction were never found, public support of the war eroded. Today, there never was support. And the administration has resolved to basically say “don’t believe your lying eyes”.
On Face The Nation yesterday, Secretary of State Marco Rubio literally said having proper intel on Iran’s weapons programs was an “irrelevant question.” Intel is irrelevant to the bombing of another nation. Because of Trump’s unhinged attack on Iran, American’s are now less safe and troops in the region are now in danger. The unconditional support of Israel’s war with Iran will not benefit the American people.
Where is Iran’s Uranium?
Continuing the absurd levels of incompetence in DC, US officials are now admitting that they don’t even know if they destroyed Iran’s Uranium. After three massive bombings on suspected sites, JD Vance said that America would “have conversations with the Iranian’s” about it.
The New York Times reported that Iran had already moved uranium and other vital equipment away from the Fordo plant which was hit last weekend. And according to one of their sources, the uranium was moved between Isfahan and other unknown sites. So while the Trump’s bombing provided shock and awe, there’s still a litany of questions around it’s effectiveness.
This is why having proper intelligence, relationships with operatives on the ground AND a diplomatic relationship are important before you start bombing things. So while Iran’s capability to enrich uranium may be hampered, they could still be in possession of critical nuclear element. That would make the entire bombing operation a near failure.
